During the time that Britney was trying to make her career take off, both Lynne and Jamie couldn’t accompany her in New York, so they asked a family friend that was staying in the city to travel with her. That friend, Felicia Cullota, was an older lady from their hometown in Kentwood who would later become her assistant. But if anyone chose to look closer at their relationship, Felicia would end up being her ‘parent’ so to speak, looking after the young girl since she still needed a guardian to be with her at all times. It would seem strange that her parents were so quick to trust someone else with their eldest daughter’s life, but Britney would soon find out that her parents didn’t mind having others “look out” for their young daughter.
