Playboy Mansion Sold

Daily Mail

Though the Playboy Mansion was sold for a reported $100 million in 2016 to Daren Metropoulos, co-owner of the Hostess Brand. Hefner was still allowed to live out his days in the mansion via a life estate that was part of the terms for an annual rent of $1 million. Just so you know, Playboy Enterprises was actually the owner of the mansion, which in turn leased it to Hefner. Metropoulos had also previously bought the mansion next door from Hefner and his then wife Kimberly Conrad in 2009 for $18 million and has plans of joining the two properties together. The Playboy Mansion may not have been designated as a historic landmark, but the new owner never had any plans of tearing down the place anyway, and instead had the property undergo a major renovation.
