The Girls Next Door was a reality TV show that ran for six seasons between from 2005 to 2010. Also known as The Girls of the Playboy Mansion, it was such a big hit that the first season was extended from eight to 15 episodes, and eventually spawned four spinoff shows. However, despite the show’s success none of the three leads, Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson, and Bridget Marquardt, got paid for it as they were deemed “replaceable.” Tough luck, considering that the girls had to battle it out to have more camera time and to look the best among the group when the cameras were rolling. Paid or not, they were indeed replaceable as another trio, made up of Crystal Harris and twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon, took over in the sixth and final season of the show in the wake of the original group’s breakup with Hefner.
