Stefan Tetenbaum, Hefner’s butler in the late 70s, recalls that there were what they called “Pig Nights” in the Playboy Mansion. This was just a few years after Hef moved to the West Coast compound permanently. Hefner would have prostitutes brought in to the mansion for his friends, and “Pig Night” would start with a dinner followed by a night of debauchery. Tetenbaum revealed that Hef did not participate in the party. He was content with a smoke and enjoyed his time as a spectator. Fitted with video cameras, those encounters were recorded by Hefner, saying that something beautiful can always happen. Well, that something beautiful also served as a deterrent for Hef’s friends who might get the wrong idea of turning on him and revealing what goes on inside the mansion.
