The bear selfie trend took off in 2014. It’s definitely far from being safe, but some people go out of their way just to jump on the bandwagon. Thus, the US Forest service finally tried to take control and released a warning that would somehow scare people from pulling the stunt. Unfortunately, not everyone took heed of the warning. Visitors to national parks still search for a bear that could be a part of their background photo. Many were just lucky enough to claim that they were never attacked.
