If you’ve never had the chance to have real seafood from a local source, then being in Aruba is the perfect time to do so. Not only do they get it from the freshest waters, cooking it practically as it comes straight from the sea, but believe us when we tell you that you’ve never tried anything like it! The town of Oranjestad is known for its small eateries and local restaurants that cook up some of the best seafood dishes that you’ve probably never tried before. Many restaurants will have the menu item “Catch of the day”, and at times the fish is literally caught on the day that you ordered it.  It’s that fresh! The most common fish are mahi-mahi, red snapper and grouper. You might also see some lionfish on some of the menus. Don’t worry about getting your hands dirty and your shirt covered in sauce, you’re going to be licking your fingers clean at the end of your meal, hoping to get one final taste of whatever tasty dish you just demolished.
