Never Speak To Locals In Spanish

Despite the fact that Spain does border Portugal, and also happens to be the only country to do that too, never speak Spanish to the locals. Unlike Spain, Portugal has its own language know as Portuguese, which sounds nothing, nor is it pronounced in the same way, as the Spanish language. Of course if you’re not used to hearing either one, these two languages might sound the same to the untrained ear.
