After a long year, many of us are looking to book and take a summer vacation. There are so many places to go and experience, and it can feel overwhelming to figure out what you want to do and where you want to go.

Going to Mexico is always a great option, as there are many cities and resorts you can visit and things you can do if you travel there. It is affordable, has nice weather, and the beaches are beautiful. Besides beaches, you can explore marine life, learn about Mexico’s culture, and taste the wonderful food.

 1. Take a cruise to Mexico

Taking a cruise combines the experience of staying at a resort with the variety of traveling to different places, all in one. Taking a cruise to Mexico is a great way to enjoy your summer vacation this year. Many cruise options include Wi-Fi, drinks, and tips, so you can spend your time doing what you want, minus the stress and hassle of figuring out tips or paying for drinks each night. You do not have to pack your bags every night or two to see a new place, as you will cruise to different ports that you can explore for the day. If you prefer visiting cities, there are cruise options for that, but if you prefer seeing tropic beaches and lots of palm trees, there are also options for this too.

2. Explore the marine life

Explore the diverse marine life in Mexico underwater or by boat. If you are interested in snorkeling or scuba diving, you can swim through the beautiful turquoise water and see all the different animals underwater. These include starfish, nurse sharks, humpback whales, orca whales and sea lions. There are coral reefs near the shore for those who are newer to snorkeling and diving, but also sandbars further away for those with more experience.

If you do not want to actually get in the water, you can see the marine life from a submarine or a boat as well and stay safe and dry.

 3. Soak up the sun

Beaches and resorts with pools can be found all around Mexico. If an ideal vacation sounds like laying out, napping, reading and staying cool in the water, then Mexico is a great choice for you. Many resorts in cities all around the country have all-inclusive resorts that have pools and beaches within walking distances from your room. If you do not want to stay at a resort, there are also countless homes available for rent as well. Many of these homes have private pools and beaches on their property, or they have access to small private beaches nearby.

 4. Learn about the culture

There are rich histories and cultures throughout Mexico, and many sites to visit if you want to experience that this summer. Some of the cultural sites include Mayan ruins, pyramids, temples, cathedrals and historic town centers. There are Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza and Tulum, and pyramids and temples that are over a thousand years old. In addition to historic sites, other cultural aspects of Mexico include folkloric dances and mariachi bands. There are many places in Mexico that offer educational tours and classes about these sites and histories.

 5. Eat and drink

Experiencing Mexico via food and drink is a great way to relax and enjoy your vacation. There are many restaurants around the country that serve the authentic food and drinks of its region. If you are looking for a more hands-on experience, consider taking a cooking class, where you can learn about the different flavors and spices of Mexican food. Tequila, which is made from agave and needs to be manufactured in one of five Mexican states to get that name, is prevalent throughout the country. You can register for tequila tasting events and tours.

Whether you decide to take a cruise, or visit the Mayan ruins, or do them both, there are many ways to create great memories during a vacation in Mexico this summer.
