Kidney stones have a reputation of being quite painful, and for good reason. While someone with a small stone might be able to pass it via their urine, they will also be prescribed pain relievers to help lessen the pain. When stones are small, over the counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen like Advil, Motrin and the like, or even acetaminophen like Tylenol, could help make it a more bearable experience.
