Making Herself Known With Championships As An Amateur

Sophie found considerable success early in her career, where as an amateur, she won the Norfolk County Championships for three consecutive years. And as if that is not enough for people to recognize her talent, she won the Under-21 title as a 15-year-old, overcoming the experience of her older opponents. She then marched on to win the Midlands Championship, and proceeded to becoming Champion of Champions in 2001. At this point in her career, it would be easy to picture her following in the footsteps of British greats like Laura Davies, Karen Stupples, Alison Nicholas, and Trish Johnson, who was also an Under-21 Champion.
