The Royal and Loyal English Toy Spaniel

Another spaniel breed, the English Toy Spaniel is quite similar to its better known cousin, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This lap dog prefers to spend hours lying down on your lap rather than playing outside. Supposedly bred in Japan, this breed was also better known to be royal companions, much like their cousin breed, having been pets to the British royalty, King Charles I and Mary Queen of Scots in particular. They were often described as gentle and good comforters, which is why they are number two on this list. However, finding one for sale tends to be quite difficult, so it may take some time before you can actually find a reputable breeder and buy one to bring home.
