Normally, the first reaction that people have when they are greeted by a humongous dog is fear and awe. But when it comes to the giant Newfoundland, these are some of the most gentle dogs on the planet. In spite of their huge size, these very dark colored and furry dogs are just as calm and patient as they are gigantic. Because of their rather large size, they do need some extra exercise, so taking them on long walks or hikes could do the trick. But they are also quite easygoing and laid-back, making them wonderful pets if you have the space for them.
