Don’t Expect Everyone Loves U2

Even if the popular band U2 is the biggest and most popular act to come from Ireland, don’t expect statues to be erected in their honor in their home city of Dublin. You won’t even see murals depicting them but you can see tributes to other less popular artists. Why are they not loved? Either they’re a victim of their own superstardom, or plain Irish begrudgery, or their tax arrangement which labeled them as tax dodgers. Whatever the case, don’t expect to see faces of people light up when you bring them up as a topic for conversation.
