Don’t Forget To Buy Your Round

The Irish pub scene involves the custom of buying a round for everyone in the group, and one after the other follows suit. It is considered very embarrassing to be referred to as someone who “doesn’t buy his round” as this custom is taken quite seriously, particularly by the older generation. Keep within reason of course, as it would be very hard to do this for large groups. If you’re with a group of ten, it’s unlikely that you would get ten drinks before someone in the group has left. Remember that not buying your round is considered rude.
