Clean Your Produce

Fruits and vegetables that we buy from the market or the grocery are usually rinsed before we eat them or prepare them for some dishes. But, to be sure that you get rid of any remnants of pesticides and germs, it is better to soak them in a mixture of baking soda and water. Just 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 cups of water will do the trick. Then scrub them with a clean, damp sponge. It is always best to be sure the produce is clean. You never know how they were handled, or if they were visited by flies that lay their eggs.
