Jimi Hendrix had entered the US Air Force before beginning his career in music but was eventually kicked out less than a year later. Hendrix would eventually turn to music, having been self-taught and would find himself in the spotlight after busting out hits like “Wild Thing,” “Crossroad Traffic,” and “Purple Haze.” Unfortunately, his life was cut short after he was found dead in his apartment by his girlfriend from a supposed drug overdose. According to her, he took nine of her sleeping pills and was still drunk and high on whatever he had consumed the day before.
