Considering that the film was done in 1962, the fact that Natalie Wood was playing a stripper that goes from a very shy and timid girl to a major burlesque star. But then again, Wood never shied away from the camera, having starred in movies like “Rebel Without a Cause,” “West Side Story” and “Splendor in the Grass.” She was also married to Robert Wagner for a time, and had accidentally drowned while on vacation on their yacht during Thanksgiving weekend. Her entire death is shrouded in mystery up to today, especially after her death was ruled an accidental drowning to drowning and other undetermined factors.
