This documentary was meant to shock its viewers, hence the term ‘shockumentary.’ It talks about the end of a colonial era that includes footages of the revolution that took place in Zanzibar. Its original Italian title was Africa Addio, while it was known as Africa Blood and Guts in the US. Its official tagline said that it’s the most startling motion picture achievement in the history of movie-making. It does make sense because the VHS is worth an impressive $700, despite it being released way back in 1966.
