11. Throw Away Uneaten Food

Uneaten food is one huge way to attract any type of insects, but more so gnats. When left out, it will slowly begin to get more moist, at times to the point of rotting. Be sure to take any food that has been left uneaten and keep the untouched and uneaten food in tight sealed containers in the ref, while throwing out anything else in their proper places. If you cannot bring out the trash that day, be sure that the food is in a bin that remains closed and covered well until you can remove it from the house as quickly as possible so that gnats won’t be attracted to the smells.
