The Painted Effect

This painted effect on cakes is a trend that became quite popular in the wedding scene. This couple wanted this particular style for their wedding cake, but in blue instead of gold. On the left is a beautiful cream and gold cake, with the burnished painted effect on top of each of the two tiers. The cake the couple did get, however, did not live up to standards. Sure, it was two-tiered, but it also looks like it is about to fall apart, and the paint is sadly smudged, giving the cake a dirty, unfinished look. This is one of the saddest wedding cakes we have ever seen—we just hope that the couple were able to overlook it and still have a fantastic day together!
