Camouflaged, Burnt Or Moldy

Ranker

This wedding cake is a bit of a mystery. While it is a pretty standard three-tier wedding cake with roses trailing down it, its color is seriously disturbing. It looks like it has been charred or singed. Or very moldy—perhaps it belongs to Miss Havisham of Charles Dickens’ masterpiece Great Expectations. Jilted on her wedding day, she sits day after day for years in her crumbling mansion, wearing her wedding dress, waiting for her love, who will never come. The cake, of course, grows an alarming amount of mold in the meantime. Literary jokes aside, what happened to this wedding cake? And why is the groom wedding topper slumped down on the ground?
