A New York state high school senior made the clutch play of a lifetime during a basketball championship game.
Julian McGarvey of Ardsley High School in Ardsley, N.Y. made a 70-foot buzzer-beater shot in a game in Pleasantville, near Chappaqua.
Ardsley was facing off against trans-Hudson opponent Tappan Zee High School of Orangeburg, N.Y. when McGarvey’s shot went viral.
McGarvey had just missed a pair of free throw shots in the waning moments of the championship game at Pace University, the Journal-News reported.
But, shortly after those misses, McGarvey intercepted Tappan Zee’s ball and threw last-second 70-foot shot that ended up giving Ardsley the win.
However…I think it is quite evident that McGarvey traveled big time before getting the shot off. The travel wasn’t called however and I guess that’s all that matters!
