Separate Personal Items

Another way of preventing the spread of stomach flu is separating personal items around your home. Avoid sharing eating utensils, drinking glasses and plates. When a sick person drinks from a glass or eats with reusable spoons and forks, droplets of mouth fluids containing stomach flu viruses, remain on their surfaces, ready to infect others who inadvertently share them.
Using paper cups, disposable utensils and paper towels is probably the best way to make sure that these things aren’t shared. Let’s face it, there are times that people neglect washing the glasses or eating utensils that they use, properly. Simply rinsing them won’t make them safe to use. Using disposables also lessens the likelihood that you will be transmitting the disease should you be the one who’s sick.
Bath towels and hand towels should also be separated and not shared as the viruses can also be transmitted that way.
