John hoped into his vehicle and began the drive to Kyle’s new neighborhood. He couldn’t believe that Kyle had managed to detect the skeleton in the tree. But what surprised him even more was the realization that the drive was particularly long, probably a good two hours to get to the area. He also realized that he hadn’t seen or visited Kyle since the dog went into retirement. It made him feel guilty, like he had forgotten all about his old partner in crime.
