Sadly, leukemia is the leading type of cancer in children, with thousand being diagnosed every year. And while the earlier signs of blood cancer are also perceived in children, there are a few that are more commonplace in kids.
13. Stomachaches and Poor Appetite
Since children, especially babies and toddlers, have a difficult time explaining what they are feeling when they are sick, which is why many of them say that they have a stomachache. But when it’s actually due to leukemia, their stomach tends to truly hurt. This is because these affected blood cells accumulate in the kidneys, liver and spleen, which then causes them to enlarge and feel uncomfortable. Much like adults, when this happens, there’s a loss of appetite as well, leading to sudden weight loss.
