The new hybrid cars featured this as a means of saving fuel. Switching off the engine when stopped, and automatic restarting once the driver takes his foot off the brake pedal. Seems okay in theory for fuel saving, but most drivers don’t appreciate this feature as it can be irritating in practice. Particularly if the driver forgets about this feature and wonders why the engine shut off upon stopping at a drive-thru to get a burger. Automation is not always needed, or appreciated. Again, some things are better left undone. It is not a necessary feature that drivers look for. Take note car manufacturers.
