Another symptom of complicated cases of Strep throat is Strawberry tongue, a condition where a person’s tongue turns bright red in color in addition to its increase in size. The tongue also takes on a bumpy texture, giving it an appearance that closely resembles a ripe strawberry, hence the name. It comes as a result of the body’s reaction to toxins secreted by the Streptococcus bacteria, and is often quite uncomfortable.
