Los Angeles is home to quite a large number of immigrants and not just from Mexico. This also means that one of the more universal languages spoken in this region is Spanish. Never assume that everyone in LA knows how to speak English. While many of them might be able to understand you, even just a little bit, this doesn’t mean that they’ll be able to answer you back.
