Although this is one tip that really doesn’t need any reiterating, never buy illegal drugs, no matter how “safe” you think the source you are buying from is. Both marijuana and cocaine are very common in this area, given that there are loads of tourists out drinking and enjoying the nightlife of the island basically ever single night. But the Dominican Republic has very strict laws and take drugs very seriously so unless you want to end up locked up abroad, just say no.
