If you are one of the few that haven’t watched the biopic about Elton John’s life entitled “Rocketman,” then you might not know what truly transpired during the early years of the singer’s life. Considering Elton spent much of his younger days and his rise to fame dealing with drugs, alcohol and eating disorders, he finally made the decision to get sober in 1990. He just recently celebrated 29 years of sobriety, sharing on his social media accounts, “29 years ago today, I was a broken man. I finally summoned up the courage to say 3 words that would change my life: ‘I need help.’ Thank you to all the selfless people who have helped me on my journey through sobriety. I am eternally grateful.”
