Eva Mendes has been out of the spotlight for the past few years, mostly because she’s been busy raising her two daughters with actor, Ryan Gosling. But before life became so #blessed, the Cuban actress struggled with staying sober, only doing so after she checked into rehab back in 2008. Since then, Mendes has been able to remain substance free, and feels a kinship with those that have struggled in the same way. She shared, “I’m proud of people who have the determination and the fearlessness to actually go and face their demons and get better. This is a life or death situation.” And thankfully, she’s come out of it living her best life with her husband and daughters.
