Rick Mueller and Joe Martinez became best friends when the were both in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. White Plains. At the young ages of 17 and 18, both men fought in the Vietnam war and were even exposed to Agent Orange. After the war, the two went their separate ways and without the helpful use of the Internet, lost touch.
Despite being apart and many failed attempts at getting in touch with one another, they remained a part of each other’s lives. In fact, Rick named his first child after his old war buddy. This 38-year reunion in the making, pulls at all the heartstrings and is surely a day these two will never forget.
