Her career saw her grace the covers of Vogue, Glamour and Vanity Fair, an achievement that was celebrated then but has somehow, in a bad way, caught up with her in the present. Comparisons have been made between her and her predecessor, Michelle Obama, highlighting the very different images they projected to the public. She was once asked by The New York Times what kind of First Lady she would be, she answered: “I would be very traditional. Like Betty Ford or Jackie Kennedy. I would support him.”
