Melania Knauss was born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia in 1970. Her father, Viktor, was a motorcycle and car dealership manager for the state-owned vehicle manufacturer while her mother, Amaliia, worked as a patternmaker at a children’s clothing manufacturer in Seynica.
