Yesenia and Savannah’s mom Marie dropped the fourteen-year-old off at the Barragan house, however she said later on that as soon as the car pulled out of the driveway, she had an uneasy feeling about the whole situation that she couldn’t explain. She had noticed a car with tinted windows parked on the opposite side of the road, just waiting for something. While Marie knew the neighborhood well, she was still very worried. However, she ignored the warning bells that were going off in her head and told herself she was just being paranoid. She reasoned that the car likely belonged to one of the neighbors and there was no logical explanation for her worry. Although, it is rare that a mother’s instinct is ever wrong.
