Pursuing a work/life balance is already a difficult task for married couples who work — which is amplified for parents who are doing everything on their own. Not only do you have to juggle the logistics of childcare and working hours, but the financial pressure of managing a household is a heavy burden to bear as well. Right now, there are more than 16 million US parents with no spouse raising children younger than 18. About one in five children (21%) are living with a solo mother, and around 4% live with a solo dad. Furthermore, among employed single mothers who have children under the age of 18, about 77% work full time.
