Interestingly enough, it was a struggle getting the studio to cast her as the star. In 2018, director Simon West said that execs were dubious because of Jolie’s notorious reputation in Hollywood. Back then, she was the girl who didn’t play by the rules. She mad hasty decisions, and many were not smart. But even then, she always stood her ground and was just simply being who she is.
