Gemma Chan was first asked to read for the role of Rachel, but luckily, she chose Astrid instead. She was able to pull of looking classy even when her husband broke her heart into a million different pieces. She seemed like the subservient woman who chooses to keep quiet rather than speak her mind, but Chan’s character had her very own version of sweet reprisal at the very end. She managed to pull it off with both touching emotion and admirable elegance. No one could have pulled off Astrid the way she did.
