Cameron Diaz was a virtual unknown before she was cast as Tina Carlyle, the love interest of Jim Carrey in The Mask. She had modeling gigs before, but that was all to it in her resume. Her good looks and fresh face must have caught the attention of talent scouts and destiny gave her the shot she needed to make it to Hollywood. She was suddenly in demand after the movie as she wowed audiences on screen. In 2019, her co-star Joely Fisher says this about her, “Diaz was just breathtaking in person. The character was so on the money for her to play.”
