Janis Jopin was an American singer-songwriter who sang rock, soul and blues music. Joplin performed her hit song “Piece of My Heart “and a medley of other chart toppers on the second day of the music festival. She was reportedly paid a cool $7,500 to bring her talents to the main stage of Woodstock. Sadly, the all-American singer is no longer with us today. However, to many fans the world over, she remains in the hearts and memories as one of the coolest and most talented women artists that ever lived. Indeed, she was definitely one to march to the beat of her own drummer, and the world saw that first hand during Woodstock. She is one of the most successful and widely known rock stars of her era.
