James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. His powerful and unique performance at Woodstock stunned the crowd. Interestingly, the band Hendrix played with at Woodstock was only temporary. At the last minute, he had to assemble a group which he called, Gypsy Suns and Rainbows. According to accounts, the band that he had played with in the past broke up before the big festival. The new band, Gypsy Suns and Rainbows, had never played for a large crowd before! They only played a few more times together after Woodstock ended. His mainstream career lasted only four years, but he is widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in his lifetime.
