17. Iconic Bubble

Cloudfront

A bubble can be a representation of many things. Obviously, it is light and airy. For instance, this famous Woodstock photograph is of a woman named Jackie Barg, who was sitting on the ground blowing bubbles enjoying her own company. Despite Woodstock being known for bringing people together, Bargs’s is the lone face we see in the picture with random people scattered around her as foreground. The image of Barg who was essentially alone with her bubble wand in a crowd of roughly 400,000 people, became the perfect representation of the free-spirited demeanor of that alternative moment time. After all, Woodstock is about finding your own sense of place in a sea of like-minded people.
