16. Swimming Without Goggles

People go swimming all the time, and many times in public pools. These pools normally have chemicals in them like chlorine to keep most of the bacteria and other unwanted viruses out of the water. The problem is that when swimmers don’t bother to use googles when in the water, all those harsh chemicals can cause problems with the eyes, and we’re not talking just regular red eyes that usually happen. These chemicals can cause pink eye, blurry vision, irritation and dry eyes, and even cornea abrasions. So the next time you plan to take a dip, in any pool for that matter – even your own – be sure to wear your goggles.
