This cat has a very coarse coat, hence its name. It is similar to the coats of some dog breeds, like terriers. The Wirehair coat trait is dominant, so any breeding between a Wirehair and another cat will produce wired kittens. It is not affectionate, and will not back down when provoked. It is medium-sized, but is very powerful and heavily muscled. It can be quite passive around strangers and kids, for as long as it is not bothered.
