A large cat breed that surprisingly loves the water. They are distinctly white, with marked tails and ears. They are curious, athletic, and active. Not really a danger in the home, but when they want attention, you had better give them some. Otherwise they can get nasty, and spiteful. They especially don’t like being held or cuddled for long periods. But they are playful and energetic, and are “dog-friendly.” While many cats have three distinct hair types in their coat, guard hair, awn hair, and down hair, the Turkish Van has no undercoat giving them a sleek appearance, and their coat feels like cashmere. It is also very water repellant.
