Don’t Expect Denver To Be A Mountain City

While it is relatively high with a 1 mile elevation above sea level, Denver is by no means a mountain town or city. You may notice the mountains on the horizon, and it may take a few hours just to get close to them. Still, even downtown offers a great view. Denver is actually located in the South Platte River Valley on the western edge of the High Plains, just east of the front range of the Rocky Mountains. It is one of the fastest growing major cities in the US. Because of its high altitude, some tourists experience shortness of breath, so be prepared.It does have certain areas that would give you the old-mountain-town feel, but it is not all like that. It is a Beta Global city and is highly advanced in terms of architecture and infrastructure. A beautiful city it most definitely is.
