Since this restaurant opened its doors in 1958, IHOP has been an American staple for pancakes, waffles, and other breakfast goodies. Recently, the chain has been on the decline due to Americans being more health conscious. IHOP realized that the pancakes and waffles have lost their appeal and decided to jump on the burger bandwagon to attract a new customer base. Unfortunately, the company has closed more than 60 locations since 2018. However, they are not yet ready to throw in the towel, as they announced that they plan to open about 100 new locations soon. They even briefly changed the name to IHOB – International House Of Burgers, adding 10 new and different burgers to the menu. But, it did them no favors. Recently, they have depended on dinner menus, delivery, and publicity stunts to bring in more customers. But, sales are still declining, we just have to wait and see if they can keep their heads above water.
