Applebee’s has been around since the early 1980s. But recently, it is suffering from a decline, lagging behind in food trends. The restaurant blames this on the millennials’ tastes. To address this, the company introduced an app and online ordering service and delivery, to attract the younger generations. They also introduced healthier menu options to cater to the millennials, and did extensive renovations and redesigns. However, they recently announced that they’re ready “to give up the battle.” They have closed more than 220 outlets since 2016. Many believe that they won’t survive 2020.
