The i-MiEV was launched for fleet consumers in Japan in the year 2009, becoming the world’s first modern highway-capable mass production electric car.  It was the first electric car to sell more than 10,000 units.  The oddly shaped four-door iMiEV is an all-electric vehicle that is rated at the equivalent of a docile 66 horsepower with an EPA-estimated operating range of just 62 miles on a charge.  It may be the most affordable electric vehicles in the market. Nonetheless, it received a rock bottom rating on residual value for ALG and Consumer Reports gave it one of the lowest overall performance score.
