The Jeep Compass is a four-door compact crossover SUV introduced for the 2007 model year and is now in its second generation.  While many crossovers pretend to be off-road worthy, most are not truly up to the task.  The Jeep Compass, however, is a Jeep and has genuine off-road chops.  However, Consumer Reports revealed its underpowered engine.  The Compass has a 2.4-liter of four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque that is not enough for a vehicle of this type.  It does not have strong acceleration which makes it harder to perform on a full load of people and cargo.
